Zubaidah & Faren

The Birthday Girl "Alai Z"

This month's wedding couple article is dedicated to the Bride who is celebrating her birthday today and just got hitched earlier this month. The Bride was my husbands school mate in St. Andrews and they have been close friends ever since. She has also become a friend to me and is no doubt a very special person. So, Ms. Lailatul Zubaidah a.k.a. Alai, I wish you a very happy birthday and hope this birthday is as special as ever since you'll be celebrating this birthday with your better half, Mr. Faren as his wifey *winkz*

"Zubaidah & Faren"

This couples Nikah ceremony date was quite easy to remember - America's Independence Day, the 4th of July 2008. On that auspicious day, the couple had David Cheok as their videographer and Pg Sofian as well as Jason Ong as their photographer. Although I was not there in person, DC did a terrific job by capturing the "moments" most dear to the heart during the ceremony. Watching the ceremony through the video clip brought tears of joy to my heart. Nothing is more special than a young lady finally finding the love of her life, her better half, her soulmate and making it official in front of close friends and family. During the Nikah Ceremony, the beautiful bride was a sight for sore eyes. She wore a custom-made dress of white chiffon and silver beading which was made flawlessly by Rizalman Ibrahim in KL. This designer-made dress looked absolutely stunning on the bride where the sequins undoubtedly complimented her figure. Topping off her attire, the bride simply wore a selendang as a head cover and nothing more which made her look just absolutely perfect. The bride's make-up and hair was done by no other than Brunei's very own, Shadon. The Groom on the other hand, Ak. Faren, wore a white cara melayu made of our traditional kain tenunan for his attire.

This gorgeous couple then celebrated their Bersanding Ceremony on "678", i.e the 6th July 2008 at the Bride's Residence in Berakas. It was a wonderful white wedding. Since the groom, now known as Pengiran Faren is serviced in the Royal Brunei Navy, he opted to wear his formal Navy uniform while the beautiful bride wore a long kebaya made of white lace, which was made by Razwan Razwill. She wore a very simple yet elegant tiara to top off her attire that went well with her jewellery set of white gold, diamonds and emeralds.

The Happy Newly Weds

To end the wedding celebrations of Pengiran Faren & Lailatul Zubaidah, on Saturday, July 12th, the newly-weds invited their closest friends and family members to an "After Wedding Party" which took place at the Jerudong Park Polo Club Restaurant. It was a night of absolute joy, love and laughter. The couple walked into the venue looking as gorgeous as ever with glows on their faces. Glowing faces of newly weds. Throughout the night, video clips of the wedded couple were shown, the wedding cake was cut and there was even a performance of line dancing to the Pocho-pocho by the bride & groom with friends and family.

~My dearest Alai and Faren~
Although we were not able to share your wedding day with you both,
we were there in spirit and thinking of you both throughout the day.
It is with no doubt that your relationship already has the gift of love, joy and happiness
so we wish you more of what you already have
and in addition we wish you one more gift, that special gift of being parents
and sharing what you both have with little versions of you both.
Insyallah, that day will come and we will pray that it will come soon.
Congratulations you two!
