A Walk Down Memory Lane II

During our Raya gathering at home, one of my brides from akadnikah was asking when I was going to post Part II. So here goes. The brides and grooms below consist of some close friends and school mates as well as friends of friends who have become my friends. A valued akadnikah follower recently asked me to add in my wedding photo, well, my dear, somewhere in here is my wedding picture, spot me if you can :)

GMAN AND AINON

G'Man was my school mate in Maktab Duli, "Dengan lepak dulu-dulu" would be the phrase we would often use. He was a very quiet young man in school but many of the young ladies had an eye for him. Then a couple of years later, I heard he had finally found the one. He is currently in the UK from what I could gather and this adorable couple has produced an adorable little girl, Princess Soffi, who has her mummy's looks. G'man & Ainon were the first wedding clients of David Cheok which is probably why they look familiar.

Duration of Marriage : 4 years

PG MOHAMED FAIZAL AND PG YURA SUKMA

This couple I have known for quite sometime, separately before they meet and tied the knot. Pg Faizal I knew during my childhood days as he was residing in his parents home opposite my 'kampong primary school'. Everyone was related to everyone in those days and I had a number of my classmates who were his cousins. Pg. Md. Faizal is also the younger brother to the Groom, Pg Suhaimi from Part one. As for the Bride, Ka'Sukma was introduced to me about 15 years ago. She was studying in KL at that time while her father was carrying out his Military Attache duties in Singapore. She has become a friend of the family, hence the title Ka'Sukma. Although I was not at the wedding, from the pictures I saw in the Bride's personal album, their wedding was a beautiful one as the bride & groom looked stunning as ever. Their reception was the first ever wedding reception to be held at ICC and for entertainment, gulingtangan was part of the show as well as a singer that goes by the name S.Ros, who sang mostly traditional songs.

FUAD & RAOUHAH

This lovely photogenic couple tied the knot just a week before my husband and I did. We shared the same photographers, penganun, make-up artist and if I'm not mistaken the same videographer too. The beautiful bride is actually the niece of Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg Anak Saleha hence the resemblance. I was lucky enough to flip through her wedding photos taken by David Cheok and was taken back by her beauty. Stunning, absolutely stunning. Her significant other, the groom, just made their pictures more beautiful. A match made in heaven, definitely 'Sebagai Pinang dibelah dua'.

Marriage Date: 14th April 2006

HELMI AND HIJRAHDINI

Both friends of my mine. Helmi was my class mate in secondary school. Helmi and his brother were transfer students from abroad. Their father was under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had been working abroad. Helmi was the quieter one between the two brothers. Funnily enough, Hijrahdini was my class mate during my tutorial classes during the same time Helmi became my classmate. Its a small world, isn't it. Hijrah has only just recently given birth making it a perfect three.

HAYATDEE AND MAYA

Hayatdee and Maya are a couple whose wedding pictures I came across on Multiply and I just had to seek permission to share their most memorable day with us. If I can recall correctly, Hayatdee and myself have become acquainted through a couple of friends. To bluntly put it, we have many friends in common. And if I'm not mistaken, Hayatdee is one of the pioneers of Underground. If you are between the ages of 25 to 35 and used to be a party go-er then you will know what underground was. Ahh...those were the days. Today, although this music lover still hangs out with his Underground blood brothers , he still has time for his beloved wifey and the newest member of the family, his Princess Alya Batrisyia. Wishing you both the best with your first born.

Marriage Date: 23 June 2006

ANDDY AND KAMALIAH

A never-ending love story that I'll never forget. This couple knew each other for decades before they tied the knot. She was the girl next door and he was one of her brother's closest buddies in his teenage years. She was only eleven years old and had a crush on him. This young lad then went off to further his studies and life went on. Years began to pass. Then, four years ago, a little birdie told me the groom had searched up and down for the brides number. Once he had gotten a hold of it, without hesitation he called her and unlike other times, this time they clicked and have been clicking ever since.
