Azimah & Razak

My dear sister has been married for almost three months but the big day still sticks in my head as it was yesterday since it marks an auspicious occasion for our family. About a year before the marriage, my sister and her significant other got engaged on the 7th July 2007. By the 8th August 2008, they were hitched.

The celebrations started off with the first event, Majlis Menerima Berian which took place on the 3rd August 2008. This was then followed by the Nikah Ceremony held first at the Bride's Residence in Jalan Kebangsaan for the signing ceremony then later in the evening at the Groom's Residence in Kiarong on the 8th August 2008. For her Nikah, my beautiful sister, the Bride, wore a simple while baju fesyen and tudong. As simple as the ceremony was, she looked absolutely stunning.

The next day, 9th August 2008, the Bride's Majlis Malam Berbedak took place at Orchid Garden Hotel. She dressed up in the traditional Brunei Malay attire and wore a beautiful Red Lace baju kurung which was made locally and completed her attire with a red kain jongsarat. The Bride's Make-up and Grooming was done by no other than Brunei's talented Mak Andam, Hajah Zaleha.

The following day was the day the newly weds celebrated their Bersanding day. It started off by everyone waking up early and preparing for the event. The Ceremony was held at the Grand Cesar Ballroom of Orchid Garden Hotel. The bride was groomed and prepped for her big event. Her make up was done by Hajah Zaleha while her hair was done by no other than our talented Mr. Moore.

The Bride and Groom chose a royal blue songket as their attire for the day. The songket was a gift from the Groom and was locally made by a tenunan shop in Kiulap. The Bride's attire was sewn by a very talented dressmaker in Serusop into a baju fesyen with scattered red beaded flowers around the collar and sleeves. The bride topped off her attire with a beautiful white gold & diamond tiara which was personally owned and matching earrings & necklace, courtesy of Ms. Suria of Ami-Yani Bridal Boutique. Once united on the wedding dais, the bride and groom looked absolutely regal in their custom-made attires.

The final event that marked the end of the celebrations was the Majlis Doa Kesyukuran which was held the same night at Rizqun International Hotel. It was a night of love, laughter and a lot of entertainment. The Groom opted to wear a suit while the bride wore a white gown with silver beading designed by a local dressmaker. Her attire was topped off with a veil and tiara.

My dearest Sister & brother-in-law,
Congratulations on tying the knot!!
Wishing you both all the love in the world.
Being part of your wedding was a trip for Kaka.
It was a tiring one but I enjoyed every moment of it.
There were most definitely tears of joy when I saw you both on the dais.
As for my new brother in law, welcome to the family!
I hope you won't get scared away with our crazy ways! haha...
Look after my baby sis and we'll always look after you!
Love you both!

Lots of hugs & kisses
