A Walk Down Memory Lane I

Since there are zilch weddings in this holy month of Ramadhan, the weddings-this-week page would not be publishing any articles. And so, to keep this section a little bit 'happening', I will be posting pictures of past beautiful brides and handsome grooms in two parts. This week will be part one which comprises of a couple of mycyber friends, some dear old friends, clients of photographers and just random newly weds whose wedding pictures, I think should be shared with everyone because they just look absolutely stunning on their wedding day.

Some of these couples have been married for many years, some only just tied the knot last year and some already have a baby in their care. Since its a bit too late to wish these couples "wedding wishes", I will just convey my best wishes to them all and pray that they all continue to sail smoothly through their journey of marriages.

AZEDAH AND REEDA

Reeda is the webmaster of anakbrunei.org who is always up for hire to take splendid photographs. He has been very active in trying to save SMARTER (an organization to help autistic children) from pulling the plug.Azedah, his lovely wife bakes those wonderful yummy cookies you get at the side of your coffee you order from Taurean. Great tit bit biscuit for Raya.

PETER AND ADRINA

The produce of buying and selling cupcakes led to my new found friendship with this Bride. Thanks to her passion for baking cupcakes and my love for eating them, we became acquainted. Do watch out for my article on her lovely 'Crazy Cupcakes' next month. Her significant other, Peter, is aPilate's instructor and during his free-time, while Adrina bakes, he indulges in his passion of wood-work.

SOFFIAN AND HANA

This sweet couple had their bersanding ceremony on Christmas day in 2005. Dk. Hanna is currently in the legal sector at the Courts as most of her siblings are and Soffian would be classified as a VIP amongst the high-tech community as he is part of the AV Electronics team handling with all Apple products.

AZRIN AND IZAT

The granddaughter of our very own, Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin, the 27 sultan of Brunei, tied the knot to Azrin a.k.a Charlie Boy, the son of business-tycoon, Mr. Aziz Latif. Both were my school mates during my years at SMJA Secondary School and have been dating since 1994. Love birds at secondary school and still are 13 years later.

PG HJ MOHD SUHAIMI AND PG ANAK HJH HUDA

This Royal wedding took place sometime last year and was one of the extravagant weddings of the year. All the traditional events were celebrated, fromMajlis Gendang Jaga-Jaga to Majlis Mulih Tiga Hari. At their Thanksgiving Reception held at the ICC, the Indonesian singer, Marcell, was brought in as entertainment. Pg Anak Hjh Huda is the only daughter of Princess Ummi Kalthum and Pg Anak Hj Idris where the Groom, Pg Hj Suhaimi is the second son of the Grand Chamberlain, Pg Alauddin. Pg Anak Hjh Huda gave birth to a baby boy very recently.

GAIL FADHILLAH AND ADEK

The Bride, a distant relative of my husband is third generation Eurasian, but often gets mistaken for a Caucasian, and the Groom; a Government official and the second son of Pengiran Putera Negara Pg Hj Omar. A couple of months ago, this couple was honored to have a new addition to their family, a gift of a new born son, Ak. Amirul Umar.

JENNY AND RIDHA

The well-known DJ of Kristal FM, Jenny Malai Ali tied the knot early this year and I am happy to inform you that she has a bun in the oven and should be expecting the birth of her first born very soon.

Duration of Marriage: 6 months
